Hi, I’m Rob Cannon

I’m a coach, consultant, and educator specialising in the creative industries.

Creative work is extremely rewarding, but these aren’t easy industries to work in by any means. They can present unique and testing challenges that can derail careers and make life pretty tough. Over time, work like this can become narrowing or exhausting - even when it looks successful from the outside.

The conditions change faster than the frameworks we rely on. Creativity becomes harder to access. Judgment carries more weight, with fewer clear answers. The work starts to cost more than it gives back.

My role is to help people do their best work sustainably - to thrive, not just survive - and enjoy more effective, rewarding, and successful careers (and lives!).

Clients often come to this work looking for clarity or momentum, and stay because the work changes how they think, decide, and show up over time.

I bring together organizational psychology, real-world experience in the creative industries, and long-term coaching practice to support clear thinking, resilient performance, and meaningful change. The work is thoughtful, evidence-based, and client-focused, designed to create progress that actually lasts.

Alongside individual coaching, I work with teams and organizations (particularly in creative and knowledge-based industries) on leadership, culture, and navigating change, including the challenges of a human-centered approach to integrating AI into professional life. And I help these organizations do great work whilst nurturing and elevating their people.

I also support therapists and private practitioners in building viable, values-aligned practices through The Practitioner Suite.

I write regularly about creativity, work, and professional life, and I’m the author of Aha! A User’s Guide to Creativity.

I'm also the co-author of an upcoming book that explores how business leaders elevate organizational culture, drive sustainable growth, without treating AI transformation as a cost-cutting exercise. It's a leadership playbook for building organizations where humans thrive alongside technology, not in spite of it.

If this way of thinking about work resonates, you’re welcome to get in touch.
